Six signs of mosquito activity around your property.

Mosquitoes breed in standing water and rest in shaded, humid areas during the day. In the UAE’s warm climate, a single female can lay 100–300 eggs every few days. Recognising these signs early allows targeted treatment before populations explode.

01

Frequent bites on exposed skin

Regular mosquito bites — especially around ankles, arms, and neck — when spending time outdoors or near windows. If bites are occurring during the day, Aedes species (dengue and chikungunya vectors) are likely present.

The UAE has recorded cases of dengue fever and chikungunya linked to Aedes mosquitoes. Professional mosquito control reduces population density and breaks the breeding cycle — protecting your family, guests, and employees.

Why mosquito control is essential.

Mosquitoes are more than a nuisance — they are the world’s deadliest vector, responsible for transmitting diseases that affect millions globally each year. In the UAE’s subtropical climate, mosquito populations remain active year-round.

Disease Transmission

Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes transmit dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika virus. Culex pipiens transmits West Nile virus. The UAE has recorded locally transmitted cases, and imported cases arrive regularly through international travel.

Guest & Employee Discomfort

Hotels, resorts, restaurants, and outdoor venues lose customers when mosquito activity is high. Staff working outdoors — landscapers, security, maintenance teams — face constant biting, reduced productivity, and health risks without proper mosquito management.

Outdoor Space Unusability

Gardens, pool areas, terraces, playgrounds, and al-fresco dining areas become unusable when mosquito populations are unchecked. Residents and tenants avoid outdoor spaces entirely during peak mosquito hours, reducing the value and enjoyment of the property.

Municipality Compliance

ADAFSA, Dubai Municipality, and Sharjah Municipality conduct vector control inspections for hotels, construction sites, labour camps, and food establishments. Non-compliance with mosquito breeding prevention regulations results in fines, warnings, and potential licence suspension.

Four mosquito control treatment methods.

Debug selects the treatment method based on the mosquito species, property layout, and intended use of outdoor areas. For properties in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah, Debug typically combines fogging with larvicide treatment for both immediate knockdown and long-term breeding prevention.

Thermal Fogging

Gardens, outdoor events, construction sites, labour camps

1–2 hours 5–7 days
How It Works

A petroleum or water-based insecticide is heated and dispersed as a dense visible fog that penetrates dense vegetation, shaded areas, and harbourage points. Kills adult mosquitoes on contact and provides immediate population knockdown across large outdoor areas

Cold Fogging / ULV

Indoor spaces, warehouses, hotel grounds, residential gardens

1–2 hours 5–7 days
How It Works

Ultra-low volume (ULV) misting disperses micro-droplets of insecticide without heat or visible residue. Suitable for indoor and semi-enclosed areas where thermal fog is not appropriate. Odourless formulations available for hotels and restaurants

Larvicide Treatment

Standing water, drains, water features, construction sites

Immediate 30–60 days
How It Works

Insect growth regulator (IGR) granules or liquid applied to all standing water sources — drains, catch basins, plant saucers, water features, AC drip trays, and construction excavations. Prevents larvae from developing into biting adults

Outdoor Misting System

Villas, hotel gardens, pool areas, restaurants, terraces

1-day install Continuous
How It Works

Automated perimeter misting system installed around the outdoor area. Programmable nozzles release a fine mist of insecticide at scheduled intervals — typically at dusk and dawn when mosquito activity peaks. Provides continuous hands-free protection

Debug frequently combines thermal fogging with larvicide treatment for both immediate adult knockdown and long-term breeding prevention. For residential villas with gardens, an outdoor misting system provides continuous protection. Commercial properties, hotels, and construction sites typically require scheduled fogging programmes aligned with municipality vector control requirements.

Our four-step mosquito treatment process.

Every mosquito treatment follows Debug’s four-stage protocol — calibrated to mosquito species, property layout, and outdoor usage patterns. All treatments are municipality-approved and target both adult mosquitoes and breeding sites.

01

Site survey & breeding site identification

On-site inspection to identify mosquito species, locate all standing water sources and breeding sites, assess vegetation density, and map outdoor areas requiring treatment. The survey determines the treatment method and schedule.

~ 45 minutes
02

Larvicide application to breeding sites

Insect growth regulator (IGR) applied to all identified standing water sources — drains, catch basins, water features, AC drip trays, and any container holding stagnant water. Prevents larvae from developing into biting adults for 30 to 60 days.

Breeding prevention
03

Fogging & adult mosquito knockdown

Thermal fogging or cold fogging (ULV) applied across gardens, terraces, parking areas, and perimeter vegetation. Dense fog penetrates harbourage areas and kills adult mosquitoes on contact, providing immediate population reduction of up to 95%.

Immediate effect
04

Monitoring & scheduled re-treatment

Mosquito populations recover within 7 to 14 days without ongoing management. Debug provides scheduled re-fogging and larvicide top-ups — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly depending on the property. Misting system clients receive quarterly servicing and nozzle maintenance.

Ongoing protection

Six ways to reduce mosquito activity around your property.

Between professional fogging sessions, these preventive measures significantly reduce mosquito breeding and biting activity. Most mosquito problems Debug treats in the UAE trace back to one of these six conditions.

01

Eliminate all standing water

Empty plant saucers, buckets, discarded tyres, and any container holding stagnant water. Mosquitoes need as little as a bottle cap of water to breed. Check the property weekly — especially after rain or irrigation.

02

Maintain swimming pools & water features

Keep pools chlorinated and filters running — even when not in use. Decorative ponds and fountains should have moving water or be treated with larvicide. Cover pools when vacant for extended periods.

03

Install screens on windows & doors

Fit fine-mesh insect screens on all windows, doors, and ventilation openings. Ensure screens are free of tears and sit flush against the frame. Screen doors should be self-closing to prevent mosquitoes entering when doors are left open.

04

Drain AC drip trays regularly

Air conditioning condensate trays and drain lines are a major mosquito breeding source in the UAE. Ensure drip trays drain freely, clear blockages promptly, and check external condensate outlets for pooling water.

05

Manage landscaping & vegetation

Trim dense shrubs and ground cover where mosquitoes rest during the day. Remove leaf litter from gutters and drains. Keep grass short and reduce shaded, humid pockets in the garden where mosquitoes harbour between feeding.

06

Schedule regular fogging treatments

Fortnightly or monthly fogging maintains low mosquito populations throughout the season. Included with Debug Annual Maintenance Contracts — combines scheduled fogging with larvicide top-ups and breeding site inspections for year-round protection.

Mosquito treatment cost in the UAE.

Mosquito treatment cost depends on property size, treatment method, frequency of application, and the scope of breeding site management required. Debug provides transparent quotes after a free on-site survey — no hidden fees, no obligation. Below are the factors that determine pricing for mosquito control in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah.

Property Size & Outdoor Area

Larger gardens, hotel grounds, construction sites, and labour camps require more insecticide, longer application times, and additional equipment. Treatment cost scales with the total outdoor area to be fogged and the number of breeding sites requiring larvicide application.

Treatment Method

Thermal fogging, cold fogging (ULV), larvicide treatment, and automated misting systems are priced differently based on equipment, product cost, and installation requirements. Misting systems involve a one-time installation cost plus ongoing consumable and maintenance charges.

Treatment Frequency

A single fogging session provides 5 to 7 days of protection. Ongoing programmes — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly — are priced per visit with volume discounts for longer contracts. Annual Maintenance Contracts offer the most cost-effective coverage for year-round mosquito management.

Breeding Site Complexity

Properties with extensive irrigation systems, water features, construction excavations, or multiple drainage points require additional larvicide application and more thorough breeding site management. Debug assesses all water sources during the free site survey and includes larvicide in the treatment plan.

Free Mosquito Survey & Quote

Debug does not charge for mosquito surveys, site assessments, or detailed quotes. Every assessment includes species identification, breeding site mapping, a recommended treatment plan with frequency, and transparent pricing — delivered within 24 hours. Volume discounts are available for multi-property and ongoing fogging contracts.

I came across this company while searching for a good bug exterminator and I must say I was very impressed with their prices and the quality of their work. I had an infestation of bees and after researching a reputable company I found debug pest control. I called them first thing in the morning and they were there by noon. They gave me a free quote and spent over an hour on the house to remove the bees and secure the hive. I would definitely recommend these guys!

What to say and not to sound like payed internet bot? First of all I searched for 2 days who to contact and randomly I decided to contact them over their website, they responded from AD office, transfer the case to DXB and from that moment I booked them within 24h, super fast! They came at 8:30 and did a 3 different treatments for yellow ants that I inherited from previous tenant, closed the AC and left the apartment. What I experience now is how good are their insecticides, around the toilet and balcony I have a graveyard of ants, in tones, that I was not expecting to have at all so much, next I have also dead cockroaches on balcony, which I was thinking that I don't have... I will call them again definitely, because this is a right service provider from my perspective. I expect that ants needs a few treatments and at least I know who to call for help. I recommend them without any hesitations, the gentlemen that did the work in my house was Richard, nice, calm and very detailed in his work. Thanks De.Bug!

Mosquito treatment FAQ.

Common questions about mosquito control, fogging, larvicide treatment, and mosquito prevention in UAE properties.

The three most common mosquito species in the UAE are: Aedes aegypti (the dengue mosquito), which bites during the day and breeds in clean standing water; Aedes albopictus (the Asian tiger mosquito), which is an aggressive daytime biter found in urban and suburban areas; and Culex pipiens (the common house mosquito), which bites primarily at dusk and dawn and breeds in polluted water, drains, and catch basins.
Thermal fogging uses a fogging machine to heat a petroleum or water-based insecticide into a dense visible fog. The fog is dispersed across gardens, vegetation, and outdoor areas where adult mosquitoes rest and harbour. The micro-droplets kill mosquitoes on contact and settle on surfaces to provide residual protection for 5 to 7 days. Fogging is most effective when applied at dusk or dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
Yes. Debug uses municipality-approved insecticides that are safe for residential use when applied according to label directions. Residents and pets should remain indoors during application and for 30 minutes afterwards to allow the fog to settle. Plants are not harmed by standard fogging treatments. Odourless, plant-based formulations are available on request for sensitive environments.
A single fogging session provides approximately 5 to 7 days of adult mosquito reduction. For ongoing protection, Debug recommends fortnightly fogging during peak mosquito season (April to November) and monthly fogging during the cooler months. Hotels, outdoor venues, and construction sites in high-risk areas may require weekly fogging. Debug tailors the schedule to your property and mosquito pressure.
Thermal fogging produces a dense, visible fog using heat — ideal for large outdoor areas, dense vegetation, and perimeter treatment. Cold fogging (ULV) uses compressed air to produce ultra-fine droplets without heat or visible residue — making it suitable for indoor spaces, hotel rooms, warehouses, and areas where a visible fog is undesirable. Both methods use the same active ingredients and provide similar efficacy.
Larvicide treatment applies insect growth regulators (IGRs) to standing water where mosquito larvae develop — drains, catch basins, plant saucers, water features, AC drip trays, and construction excavations. The IGR prevents larvae from developing into biting adults, breaking the breeding cycle at its source. A single larvicide application remains effective for 30 to 60 days depending on the product and conditions.
Mosquito treatment cost depends on the property size, treatment method, and frequency of application. A single thermal fogging session for a standard villa garden is priced differently from a monthly fogging contract for a hotel or construction site. Debug provides a detailed quote after a free on-site survey — no hidden fees. Volume discounts are available for ongoing contracts. Call 800 7890 for a free mosquito survey and quote.
Yes. Debug installs automated outdoor misting systems for villas, hotel gardens, pool areas, restaurants, and terraces. Programmable nozzles are installed around the perimeter and release a fine mist of insecticide at scheduled intervals — typically at dusk and dawn. The system provides continuous, hands-free mosquito protection without the need for manual fogging visits. Debug handles installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.

Debug’s core mosquito control service area covers Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah with offices in Mussafah, Jebel Ali, and Al Nahda. For larger commercial fogging contracts in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah — including construction sites, labour camps, and hotel developments — Debug deploys on a project basis.
